Immigration solicitors in Hounslow for sponsor licences
When employers in Hounslow look for an immigration solicitor, they usually want help with one of these:
- getting a licence on a first application
- weighing up their options after a refusal
- staying on top of their sponsor duties
- replying to a suspension letter, or handling a revocation
- sponsoring one particular worker with a licence they already hold
Each brings paperwork and deadlines of its own. One regulated immigration solicitor firm receives your question and then works with you directly. What that involves is set out in our general immigration solicitors guide.

Does your immigration lawyer need to be in Hounslow?
No, not for the licence. There's an online application form, and its supporting documents have to reach the Home Office by email no later than 5 working days after you submit (Appendix A, sections 1.3 and 1.5). The licence names your key contact as the Home Office's main contact, and that's who a caseworker emails with any question. That means a firm anywhere in the UK can handle a Hounslow application for you by email and video.
Visits are the exception. The Home Office carries out compliance visits at your premises, or at the place where your sponsored staff work, and a visit can be unannounced (sponsor guidance Part 3).
Hounslow employers with a sponsor licence
Hounslow is given as their town by 492 organisations on the Home Office register dated 22 October 2026 (GOV.UK register). Out of 127,744 licensed sponsors across the UK, Hounslow's share is about 0.4%, placing it between Wolverhampton (497) and Watford (488) in the register's ranking of 5,763 towns. Of the Hounslow sponsors, 482 hold a Skilled Worker licence. To find a named employer, use our register search.
The register treats towns separately even though Hounslow lies in Greater London: an entry showing London counts towards the London total of 36,656, and the Hounslow figure doesn't include it.
Compliance with a licence in Hounslow
Holding a licence means you must report most changes affecting your organisation to the Home Office's sponsor account online, the sponsorship management system (SMS), within 20 working days (Part 3, section C2). A written reply to a suspension letter is also due within 20 working days (Part 3, section C9). Employers tend to call in a solicitor during that short window. The day-to-day obligations are set out in our sponsor duties guide.
Lawyer fees and papers to gather first
Every solicitor sets prices themselves. Of the firms that publish what they charge, two ask £3,000 to £4,500 plus VAT for a sponsor licence application. Whichever firm replies, you'll get its own quote. It helps to have these ready before you contact anyone (Appendix A):
- your latest annual accounts, or a Companies House link showing them online at no cost
- a recent statement from your business bank account
- HMRC proof of PAYE registration, with your employer reference shown
- if you have 50 or fewer staff, a list showing each person's job title
- who fills each of the three licence management roles: level 1 user, key contact, and authorising officer (GOV.UK)
Questions Hounslow employers ask about immigration lawyers
How do I check that an immigration lawyer in Hounslow is regulated?
Since Hounslow is in England, the Solicitors Regulation Authority regulates its solicitors, and you can find them on the SRA register. A Find a Solicitor directory is also run by the Law Society of England and Wales. For a non-solicitor adviser, you should search the Immigration Advice Authority adviser finder; it shows the level of work each one may do. If your adviser isn't regulated, GOV.UK warns you can't get your money back (GOV.UK).
What happens if our Hounslow licence application was refused?
If you applied unsuccessfully within the last 6 months, you usually won't be granted a licence (GOV.UK). A review can happen only if the caseworker made a mistake or failed to consider your documents, not just because you disagree (GOV.UK). Which of these applies is something a solicitor can tell you after reading the refusal letter. Our refused licence guide has more.
